Yesterday, The-Seventeen-Year-Old’s volleyball team won the Northwest League’s championship! They’ve earned a flag for their gym, and I heard rumor it’s the first time in almost 20 years for their school. In the three seasons I’ve been watching these girls play, they have grown so much as athletes, leaders, teammates, and women. It has been an honor, and we are all extremely proud. Great job, Ladies! Next stop — State!
I made celebratory cookies (because I just knew these gals were going to rock it yesterday) — gorgeous, buttery, vanilla-packed, sprinkle filled and sprinkle topped cookies. Did I mention sprinkles? Yeppers. Sprinkles and sprinkles.
We can thank Joy the Baker for these ones. She did it. She went there. She pushed the boundaries of celebratory sprinkle cookies – “Vanilla Bean Confetti Cookies.” She has a new cookbook to celebrate. (I got mine two days ago, and I can’t wait to have a spare moment to pour over the recipes and photos! (True story: I carried it along with me yesterday to the game – funny, ha ha, joke I played on myself doing that).
The word on the street, post championship win, the cookies were amazing. So find some reason to celebrate — you don’t need a beautiful new cookbook or a senior year trip to volleyball state — making it to an October Sunday afternoon is a reason, even better if it means you slept in and that’s why it’s the afternoon (not my situation, but hoping it’s yours). Have a gorgeous day, all! Yay!
